The California Golden Bears are going back to the NCAA tournament after a two year absence. Selection Sunday places the Bears.
California will play as a 4 seed in the South Region against Hawaii. If they can win, Cal will face Maryland or South Dakota State in the Round of 32.
Cal finished the season 3rd in the Pac-12 with a 22-9 record and 12-6 in the conference. The Bears were perfect at home, beating all the Pac-12 tournament squads like Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Oregon State, and USC. They won all their games in February, and took care of business at the end. But the Bears struggled on the road and weren't able to close some crucial contests against Virginia, Arizona and Utah, which was probably the difference between Cal being a top 2 or 3 seed in the tournament.
Cal hasn't been to the Sweet 16 in nearly two decades. Is the year the Bears will break through and make the next round?
