Pac-12 Recruiting Update: Stanford, USC, WSU, Oregon, Arizona Hand Out 2014 Offers

Plenty of Pac-12 teams are getting a jump start on 2014 football recruiting, as the Stanford Cardinal and USC Trojans lead the way with numerous offers to top prospects.

After a quiet recruiting class in 2013, Stanford is back on the trail.

Wide receiver Jalen Brown from Phoenix Mountain Pointe has been offered by the Cardinal. As does defensive end Lorenzo Carter from Norcross (Georgia), who picked up a Stanford offer this weekend. Defensive back C.J. Hampton from Meridian (MS) joins them. Linebacker Keshun Freeman from Georgia also got something similar. Offensive tackle Alex Bars from Nashville joined the party, as did defensive back and wide receiver Montae Nicholson from Monroeville (Penn.) who received a Cardinal offer too.

Stanford isn't the only school hitting the national recruiting trail. USC isn't too far behind either.

USC has offered DE/OLB Rashaan Evans out of Auburn, Alabama. The Trojans also offered Callaway OL Rod Taylor, who has offers from USC and Florida. Additionally, WR Trevon Lee out of Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale got a USC offer. So did 2015 OT Mitch Hyatt from Georgia, who confirmed a USC offer. Local linebacker John 'JuJu' Smith also received the coveted USC offer, as did athlete Deondre Clark.

2013 LB Matthew Thomas was set to go to USC, but his mom wouldn't sign an LOI. Thomas ended up at Florida State.

More recruiting updates

Arizona ended up offering St. John Bosco DB Naijel Hale.

Fresno Central East DT Tashon Smallwood has four offers, including one from Cal. Five other Pac-12 schools are expressing interest.

Washington State ended up offering Millwood (Okla.) WR Cameron Batson. The Cougars like Batson as a wide receiver.

WSU also offered DT Marcus Griffin out of Bellevue (Wash.).

WR/DB Tyler Whiley from Chaparral got offers from Arizona State, Arizona and Washington.

TE Henry Mondeaux was offered by Washington. He has already received an Oregon State offer.

RB/LB Devante Downs from Mountlake Terrace (WA) would consider moving to linebacker at the next level. Cal and Oregon State both offered and Washington got an unofficial. Downs also is receiving interest from most of the Pac-12.

2015 OL/DL Henry Roberts has a Washington offer.
