If you were to construct a third identity in the Pac-12 that's versatile enough to beat both Oregon speed and Stanford power, what would it be?
Noah Smith, Addicted to Quack: Alabama.
Jack Follman, Pacific Takes: For both teams I think it really just comes down to having those big, skilled guys up front, especially on defense and having a lot of them. Unfortunately for the rest of the conference the only two teams that really have them right now are Oregon and Stanford. I think you would also then need a couple of speedy receivers that beat you deep and a good quarterback to keep their attacking defenses honest.
I think UCLA is actually making strides to becoming that team, but is still inexperienced and has a long ways to go.
Jason Bartel, AZ Desert Swarm: Alabama
Chris Landon, UW Dawg Pound: Something that involves sneaking a twelfth player on the field.
