Steve Berkowitz: Pac-12 Schools Will See Big Payday From TV Deals
The estimate, premised on the SEC continuing without a conference-owned network and again having 15-year deals, would give the SEC more guaranteed TV revenue than any college athletics conference: an average of nearly $25 million per school per year over the full contract term ($5.2 billion total).
However, the Pac-12's full ownership of national and regional networks that have lined up substantial distribution before their scheduled launch in August, indicates that the conference is on track to generate at least $30 million per school per year over the 12-year term of agreements with ESPN and Fox that begin later this year ($4.3 billion total). Only the money from ESPN and Fox — an average of about $21 million per school per year — is guaranteed, though. And because of the networks' start-up costs the actual per-school revenue the first few years is likely to be well below the projected annual average.

The same applies to the B1G, they already make more than $25M per
only part of their money is from their network so technically it’s not guaranteed. I meaningless point when you are not making as much. The Pac12 is already way past that $25M mark, they get $21 from ESPN/Fox and already will get another $8M from the four cable deals done last year. That of course isn’t counting all the other money they are lining up from satellite TV, smaller cable companies and other outlets like Verizon, etc. The projections for Pac12 TV revenue are in the $35-40M range. That is why the SEC is so mad.

The Pac12 network needs to be national.
I have family back east eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new network.
I am confident the Pac12 network leadership is aware of this.

The network will be offered nationally by the carriers who are under contract
Works the same way as the Big10 network. Depending on the carrier, some will offer it as part of the basic package and others as a premium channel. The real question is will your family’s carrier be signed up with the Pac12 network. If they have Time Warner, Bright House, Cox or Comcast, they are covered. If not, we should find out by July or August.

The best part of this is that the Pac keeps 100% of the revenue
unlike the B1g who only get 50%.
Larry Scott was the highest paid commissioner at $1.9 mil last year, and he earned every penny of that.
