Surprisingly it's mostly football reasons. Most of the skepticism centers around USC being totally outclassed by UCLA and replacing a lot of talent from last year's squad. The schedule is also cited as being very difficult.
The side opinion for UCLA was the trust they had in the Bruins to do great things last year was squandered by a year of inconsistency.
